Sunspark -- The Door Into Fire Herewiss' investigations of the doors in the hold continues apace, and Sunspark is -- well, not bored, really, because looking into other wheres can hardly fail to be interesting. But for something that's used to
traveling between wheres, looking begins to lose its charm.
But
here is a door that not only shows people -- an oddity in this place -- but a door that shows another crossroads, like the hold, unless Sunspark misses its guess. And that is more than interesting enough to investigate.
The elemental sees no reason to change its current form, so the head that pokes curiously through the door is that of a handsome stallion, blood-bay in color. Anyone nearby might notice the air around the "horse" heating up.
Nita Callahan -- Young WizardsAw, everyone knows Nita. She's currently lounging in a booth with an iced tea, an NYU course catalog, and a T-shirt emblazoned with
The Crossings. (The shirt leaves her arms mostly bare, so the scars on her forearms are visible.)
Carmela Rodriguez -- Young WizardsNow, only a very stupid business-being would use a public place like Milliways to count his/her/its earnings. Doing an inventory of
merchandise, on the other hand . . .
After all, ask any salesman from Cyrano Jones to Willy Loman: having your product visible encourages sales.
Which is why Carmela is sitting at a table near the front door, sorting chocolate bars, truffles, and packs of hot chocolate powder by their quality. She's got everything from cheap Hershey's and Swiss Miss to Godiva.
Reasonable resale rates?
The Lone Power -- Young Wizards
It's always here.
Here, at Universes' End, It's always present. It's even always manifest, in a way, visible in terrible beauty and glory in the neverending destruction outside the Observation Window.
It's always here.
Tonight, It's here in a manifestation that some might find familiar: a young man, red-haired, in a finely tailored black suit, lounging in an armchair with a view of the Window and watching the spectacle with the grim satisfaction of an artist-cum-general.
He's beautiful. He's terrifying.
He's holding a glass of Atlantean in one hand, casually, because even the Lone Power, Fairest and Fallen, the Starsnuffer, the Bringer of Wildfires -- even It wants a drink now and then.
( Warnings galore for the Lone Power! )
